Obama – Not The Optimal President

While recording an interview for The Daily Show on Comedy Central, we get to hear this exchange between John Stewart and America’s 4th Greatest President:

Stewart – ‘Is part of the investigation helping the communication between these divisions? Not just what happened in Benghazi, but what happened within. Because I would say, even you would admit, it was not the optimal response, at least to the American people, as far as all of us being on the same page.’

Obama – ‘Here’s what I’ll say. If four Americans get killed, it’s not optimal.’

In an interview with MailOnline today, the mother of one of the four slain diplomats spoke out saying:

How can you say somebody being killed is not very optimal? I don’t think the President has the right idea of the English language.

It’s insensitive to say my son is not very optimal – he is also very dead. I’ve not been “optimal” since he died and the past few weeks have been pure hell.

I am still waiting for the truth to come out and I still want to know the truth. I’m finally starting to get some answers but I won’t give up.

There’s a lot of stupid things that have been said about my son and what happened and this is another one of them.’

The pain, frustration, and anger of this woman and the other families of those slain in Benghazi on September 11, 2012 must be near overwhelming.

The President made sure in the most recent debate to speak gravely of meeting the returning coffins of the dead.  What he wouldn’t speak to was the truth behind the confused, contradictory, and misleading statements given to the American people for weeks following the terrorist attack in Libya.  That is what is not optimal.

Additionally, his lack of leadership in this situation is not optimal.  His lack of candor about the attack is not optimal.  His lack of honesty with the public is not optimal.

Uncle Chuckles – A Serious Man For Serious Times.

Vice President Joe Biden (aka Uncle Chuckles) and Congressman Paul Ryan had their debate tonight.  this was supposed to be the substantive debate between serious policy experts.  Just how seriously did “good ol’ Joe” take it… and consequently, the plight of America and her people?

This is the guy one heartbeat away from the Presidency?  (shudder)

Need To Get Caught Up?

Wow!  The Republican National Convention in  Tampa was quite an event.  The city of Tampa kept its guests entertained yet safe.  Despite the need to divert resources to storm preparations for the possible landfall of Hurricane Isaac, the city was able to handle things with grace and aplomb.  There were even reports that protesters complemented security operations over events in the past.

However, the mainstream press didn’t do itself any favors in the way they covered the event.  From describing every third word as racist to “airbrushing out” almost all of the minority speakers, we see once again how deep in the bag they are for President Obama.  They couldn’t even be bothered to fact-check their own commentators; instead deciding to allow blatant  lies from political agents to be reported as fact.

Despite this constant irritation, I really enjoyed the speeches.  If you haven’t had time to watch them, you should check out the 2012 Republican National Convention YouTube channel.  Especially fun is the ad-libbed talk by Hollywood great Clint Eastwood.  Many in the media are trying to portray him as unwatchable and inarticulate (Shultz and Maddow on MSNBC) or the speech as disjointed or pathetic.

This is far from the truth.  I agree with Richard Fernandez’s assessment:  “It was an old man’s delivery, but overstatedly so for effect. It was a cutting delivery and for that reason delivered in low-key.”

Obama’s Bonus Hocus Pocus

Obama has GOT to hate that Al Gore invented the internet.  I mean how would you like to have your own words thrown back at you every single day to highlight your inexperience, fecklessness, and dishonest double standards.

I recent days House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa released a new report, “Government-Sponsored Moguls: Executive Compensation at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.”  Contained within this report are details of more than $35 million in bonuses paid to executives at Fannie and Freddie despite those organizations still owing the taxpayers $141 of $169 billion.  These are the same organizations that have quietly been inquiring about getting additional assistance from the government.  Also in the report…

  • Assessments of controversial executive compensation decisions approved or allowed by the administration including the decision to award a $1.7 million non-performance based “signing bonus” to a recruited executive.
  • An examination of Obama Administration rhetoric on executive compensation for the private sector and decisions on compensation for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac executives.
  • FHFA Inspector General criticisms of Fannie and Freddie executive compensation practices.

In response we hear a stunning silence from the White House.

This is quite a contrast to Obama’s rhetoric slamming Wall Street for paying bonuses to executives after getting TARP bailouts.  Here he once again shows us his “do as I say, not as I do” leadership style.

“(This) is the height of irresponsibility. It is shameful. And part of what we’re going to need is for the folks on Wall Street who are asking for help to show some restraint and show some discipline and show some sense of responsibility.”

Vice President Biden also shows how he views the actions on Wall Street one way yet has no comment for the Fannie and Freddie bonuses for political appointees and cronies.

Mr. Biden said that he, like the president, was outraged by reports of large bonuses going to Wall Street executives.   “I’d like to throw these guys in the brig,” he said. “They’re thinking the same old thing that got us here, greed. They’re thinking, ‘Take care of me.’ ”  (New York Times Online, 01/30/09)

And just to top off tonight’s dose of Obama econo-fail, here’s a little bonus…
