Danica Patrick did not win the race in 2005. She wa however the first woman to lead laps in the Indy 500.
Got ahead of myself. Corrected and scheduled for the right date. 1st female winner at Japan 500 in 2008. She was 1st female to lead a lap at Indianapolis 500 in 2005.
